If your organization uses Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) or Gmail, you may need to authorize SupportFinity before connecting your email account.
In most cases, users can connect their Google account directly. However, if your organization restricts access to third-party applications, your Google Workspace administrator may need to approve SupportFinity first.
This authorization allows approved users within your organization to connect their Google email accounts to SupportFinity and use features such as email campaigns, recruiting outreach, and email management.
Before You Start
If your organization allows users to connect third-party applications, you can simply start the Google email connection from SupportFinity and follow the Google authorization process.
If you receive a message such as:
“Access blocked”
or
“Your administrator needs to approve this app”
you will need help from your Google Workspace administrator.
If you are not an administrator, send the instructions below to your Google Workspace or IT administrator.
Steps for Google Workspace Administrators
1. Sign In to Google Admin Console
Sign in to your organization's Google Admin Console using an administrator account with permission to manage third-party application access.
Go to:
admin.google.com
2. Open API Controls
From the Google Admin Console, navigate to:
Security → Access and data control → API controls
Under App access control, select:
Manage Third-Party App Access
3. Add SupportFinity
Click:
Add app → OAuth App Name or Client ID
Search for:
SupportFinity
Select the SupportFinity application from the search results.
If more than one OAuth client is associated with SupportFinity, select all applicable SupportFinity client IDs.
4. Select Who Can Access SupportFinity
Choose the organizational units or users that should be allowed to connect SupportFinity.
You can authorize SupportFinity for the entire organization or only for specific organizational units, depending on your company's security policies.
Click Continue.
5. Set SupportFinity as Trusted
Select:
Trusted
This allows SupportFinity to request the Google Workspace permissions required for its email functionality.
Review the configuration and click Finish.
6. Connect Your Google Account from SupportFinity
Once your administrator has approved SupportFinity, return to SupportFinity and start the email connection again.
Select Google / Gmail as your email provider.
Google will ask you to sign in and review the permissions requested by SupportFinity.
Select the Google account you want to connect, review the requested permissions, and approve the connection.
The screen will be something like the screenshot below, click on "Allow"
7. Confirm the Connection
After completing Google's authorization process, you should be redirected back to SupportFinity.
Your Google email account should now appear as connected, and you can begin using supported email features such as:
Email campaigns
Candidate outreach
Email sending
Email management
Recruiting communication
Does Approving SupportFinity Give Access to Everyone's Email?
No.
Approving SupportFinity at the Google Workspace administrator level allows authorized users to connect the application.
Each user still connects and authorizes their own Google account.
SupportFinity accesses the connected account according to the permissions approved during the Google authorization process.
What If My Organization Blocks Third-Party Apps?
Some organizations have strict Google Workspace security policies that automatically block third-party applications.
In this case, your Google Workspace administrator must explicitly approve SupportFinity through:
Google Admin Console → Security → Access and data control → API controls → Manage Third-Party App Access
Once SupportFinity is marked as Trusted, authorized users should be able to complete the Google connection process.
Still Having Trouble?
If SupportFinity has been approved by your Google Workspace administrator but you are still unable to connect your Google account, please contact the SupportFinity Success team.
